Always remember to stand on a hard total over 17. Since the dealer has to stand on a hard total of 17 or more, you should too. Besides, you run too much risk of going over 21 if you hit on 17. Well over half the cards in the deck have a value of five or higher. As a result, you’re way too likely to bust if you hit a hard 17.
